Description

“Dawn of Humanity- Birth of the Brain” shows the human brain in the context of either sunrise or sunset depending on your outlook on humanity. If you have hope – it is the brain at sunrise, but on the other hand if you see the world with pessimism then it is the sunset and downfall of humanity.

Anatomically the image shows the parts of the forebrain. The anteriorly placed frontal lobe (orange), parietal lobe (dark green), occipital lobe (bright green), and temporal lobe (purple).

Artistically the orange hue of the sun projects beautifully on the frontal lobe. The frontal lobe enables higher mental processes such as thought, and memory enabling the species to make a choice between good and bad actions.

The style is reminiscent of surrealism with a brain floating majestically and mysteriously in the sky
