A Crescent Moon and Venus

There was day and night. The sun rules during the day and the moon at night – So what is the moon doing advancing on the glory of the sun?

From a physical perspective the moon has a characteristic  luminosity that the sunlight to be reflected . The moon is also the closest stellar object to the earth and hence the luminosity can be projected .  In addition the the moon is always facing the earth as it orbits around the earth.

Day and night are defined by the sun as the earth rotates around the sun over a 24 hour period.  Sun is king of the earthly heaven. The moon though admires the earth both day and night.

Description

“A Crescent Moon and Venus “

There was day and night. The sun rules during the day and the moon at night – And the Moon reaches full glory and shares the heavens with the stars and an occasional planet…. or so it seems to the eye

In this art piece it shares the night with Venus named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty

and the heavens turned black – and I saw the overshadowed crescent moon talking to Venus… “What are people thinking?- Do they not realise life rules over death? Peace over terror? Why do the leaders of the people not declare this universal truth? It is so clear from where we stand, that there is something going wrong down there….Leaders must not remain silent! “

Some quotes about the moon:

Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

Buddha

When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.

Mahatma Gandhi

The moon puts on an elegant show, different every time in shape, colour and nuance.

Arthur Smith

“The sky grew darker, painted blue on blue, one stroke at a time, into deeper and deeper shades of night.”
