Said the Ice Bird to the Triangle

In this art piece a bird who appears fulfilled in every beautiful way and is trying in a motherly way to teach the triangle a life lesson.  She pleads with the triangle not to lose its roots and foundation, because without the foundation it loses its identity as a triangle.  She then pleads with the triangle to remain true to itself and in that way it will grow and become something more profound – and in this case the artist draws attention to the triangular shape of the birds beak that plays a highly important function in the bird’s life.

Description

Said the Ice Bird to the Triangle

The ice bird turns to the three sticks  and says- “You are losing the foundation of your existence! If you “stick” together and be true to yourself, you may rise to become a bird’s beak one day. Otherwise you will end up like all the other sticks in my nest!”

Lastly the bird teaches the importance of the struggle to move on because if the effort is not put in – the triangle will remain as 3 separate stick and will just serve in an unrecognized way as the bed of the nest .

Cold water takes on a variety of formations and textures in both liquid and solid form. In addition a variety of crystallised forms are present.  In this case air is caught in the ice bubbles  resulting in a beautiful creation of nature.  One just has to look at the microcosms of the backyard and you will find little pieces of heaven and the miraculous earth such as this one.

On the day I photographed the image, the conditions were ripe. A  “bad” snowstorm in February 2016 with 8-12 inches of snow, was followed by a Valentines day of zero degrees Fahrenheit, and then followed a day later by a morning with temperatures reaching 40 degrees Fahrenheit.  Ice ponds with transparent and often cracked thin ice could be found all over the park  As I looked more closely at these ice ponds with my macro lens – my breath was taken away by the geometric forms of nature and later was able to extract the lessons they could teach.

Just a click of the camera and a moment of time in nature, likely never to surface again, was captured.
