Description

The AiA rendering shows how the tissues of the gallbladder is transformed into a lily. The top left image is a medium power photomicrograph demonstrates the delicate cell lined mucosal fronds of the gallbladder wall. Each frond consists of a single layer of columnar epithelium covering a core of capillaries and a few fibroblasts. The upper part of the image is the gallbladder lumen, and on the opposite side parts of two muscle bundles.  The image is subsequently elongated and colored to produce the “Gallbladder Flower
