The adrenal gland has 3 arteries .  The inferior adrenal artery arises from the renal artery, the middle from the aorta and the superior adrenal arises from the inferior phrenic artery.  The adrenal gland is the fight or flight emergency gland that responds through its circulation to effect its emergency response.  Hence the rich blood supply and venous drainage.  The art piece emphasizes its triangular shape and its two major parts; inner medulla and outer cortex.
