The Cells of the Heart

The AiA rendering of the heart is derived from a histological section of the cellular and tissue makeup of the heart. The right ventricle is colored in blue depicting the presence of deoxygenated blood and the left ventricle is colored in red depicting the presence oxygenated blood.  The syncitial morphology of the cells allows efficient, coordinated, and collaborative communication and contraction between the muscle cells.

Philosophically the coordination of the small parts allows the bigger part to have greater functionality. The whole is therefore bigger than the parts
